Here's the best in founder news from the past few days:

Product Hunt removes "featured" filter

A shout out to Nika for spotting this!

Product Hunt has removed the featured/all toggle filter.

Until recently there were two pages on the Product Hunt feed: "featured" and "all"

It seems like Product Hunt are responding to the wave of criticism they have faced recently for not featuring products with lots of votes. Those launches were relegated to the secondary "all" page which didn't get much views or attention.

So now you just see one list of products in a single feed:

IndieHackers adds upvoting for products

Everyone seems to be after Product Hunt's money right now.

One possible new threat comes from IndieHackers, which is adding a new upvote page where you can submit products.

Although it seems the product pages are ones that exist already on the site so this seems to lack a little of the freshness of Product Hunt launches. I tried adding my Speedy Job Board template and it wouldn't upload the logo. Still, lets give them time to see what they cook up!

It's free this week and then they are moving to $20, which isn't bad considering you get a great backlink.

Stack Blitz demo

A very cool AI demo here.

You can create full-stack apps with a prompt as well as installing packages.

I like that they give you the choice of lots of different JS frameworks!

Although someone should make an AI website builder for other programming languages.

Threat to .io domains

Did you know that domains ending with .io actually belong to the The British Indian Ocean Territory?

The British government recently said it would give most of these islands back to Mauritius, which has claimed the islands for decades.

The problem for founders is there is a chance that domains ending with .io will cease to exist

There are lots of startups built with .io domains like Veed (they own the .com though)

So will these stick around or not?

It's unclear:

Threads group update

It seems like Meta are working on improving things over on Threads.

They are working on a feature a bit like hashtags on Twitter to group people with similar interests.

One of the big problems at the moment is the feed is often not very relevant to users.

A timer app making over $10k a month

In case you missed it, I interviewed Lukas recently about growing his timer app to over $10k in monthly revenue.

We also talked about doing business in Germany, business types he doesn't like and choosing entrepreneurship over a 9-5.

You can read the transcript, watch the video or listen to our chat here:

Issue #239 Hey! Thanks for signing up to my newsletter for founders. Just a wee reminder - this is all written by an over-caffeinated indie hacker dude in Scotland, not by AI πŸ€– I was reading a business book this week - it's funny how quickly things change.
